The advisory board for the center for nursing shall have the powers and duty to:

1. (1) Elect a chairperson;
2. (2) Establish committees of the board as needed;
3. (3) Seek input from individuals and community groups interested in the issue of nursing shortages;
4. (4) Implement the major functions of the center for nursing; and
5. (5) Seek and accept nonstate funds for carrying out the mission of the center for nursing.
