1. (a) Beginning with the regular session of 2027, no later than twenty days before the convening in each odd-numbered year of a regular session, the office shall submit to the legislature a report regarding the activities of the state fire marshal and the counties in implementing this chapter.

2. (b) The report shall include, at a minimum:

   1. (1) A status report concerning:

      1. (A) Community risk reduction; and
      2. (B) The establishment, administration, and enforcement of defensible space requirements;

   2. (2) The amount of moneys expended during the previous fiscal biennium for:

      1. (A) Community risk reduction;
      2. (B) The establishment, administration, and enforcement of defensible space requirements; and
      3. (C) Fire suppression; and

   3. (3) Any recommendations for the state fire marshal for legislative action, including but not limited to current or future resource and funding needs for:

      1. (A) Community risk reduction; and
      2. (B) The establishment, administration, and enforcement of defensible space requirements.
