Recounts and election contests shall be conducted as provided for in this code. The automatic tabulating equipment shall be tested prior to the recount or election contest, as provided in s. 101.5612, if the official ballots or ballot cards are recounted on the automatic tabulating equipment. Each duplicate ballot shall be compared with the original ballot to ensure the correctness of the duplicate.
