A person who signs a document he or she knows is false in any material respect with intent that the document be delivered to the Department of State for filing is personally liable to any person who to his or her detriment reasonably relied on the document or information contained therein and is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.083.
