1. (1) The commission shall employ an executive secretary who shall receive a salary to be fixed by the commission with the approval of the Governor. The executive secretary shall keep a record of all proceedings of the commission; shall preserve all books, papers, and documents pertaining to the business of the commission; shall prepare any notices and papers required; and shall perform such other duties as the commission directs. The executive secretary may issue witness subpoenas and administer oaths.
2. (2) The commission may appoint any deputies that are necessary, whose compensation shall be the same as that of the commissioners. A deputy shall, on the order of the commission, represent the commission at a boxing match.
