- (1) Any practitioner, licensed in Florida to practice medicine, osteopathic medicine, chiropractic, naturopathy, or veterinary medicine, who diagnoses or suspects the existence of a disease of public health significance shall immediately report the fact to the Department of Health.
- (2) Periodically the department shall issue a list of diseases determined by it to be of public health significance within the meaning of this chapter and shall furnish a copy of the list to the practitioners listed in subsection (1).
- (3) Reports required by this section must be made on forms furnished, or by electronic means specified, by the department.
- (4) Information submitted in reports required by this section is confidential, exempt from the provisions of s. 119.07(1), and is to be made public only when necessary to public health. A report so submitted is not a violation of the confidential relationship between practitioner and patient. This section does not affect s. 384.25.
