1. (1) When funds are needed for welcome stations, the cost of such improvements shall be budgeted by the ¹Department of Commerce and be subject to legislative approval and appropriation from the proper fund.

2. (2) Such improvements as provided in subsection (1) shall be made by the Department of Transportation, or pursuant to contract under its supervision, at the expense of the ¹Department of Commerce on the basis of the cost of such improvements.

   ¹Note.--Section 20.17, which created the Department of Commerce, was repealed effective December 31, 1996, by s. 3, ch. 96-320.
