Contractors paid from school funds shall give bond for the faithful performance of their contracts in such amount and for such purposes as prescribed by law or by regulations of the school board or of the state board relating to the type of contract involved. It shall be the duty of the school board to require from every contractor a bond adequate to protect the school and school funds involved.
