The following positions set forth in this section shall be exempt from Chapter 59 of this title:

1. (1) Secretary of Natural Resources and Environmental Control;
2. (2) Director of Fish and Wildlife;
3. (3) Director of Parks and Recreation;
4. (4) Director of Watershed Stewardship;
5. (5) Director of Air Quality;
6. (6) Director of Waste and Hazardous Substances;
7. (7) Director of Water;
8. (8) [Repealed.]
9. (9) Director of Energy and Climate.
