Whoever furnishes to any person committed to the jurisdiction of the Department:

1. (1) Any intoxicating liquor or narcotic drug of any kind except as prescribed by a physician for medical treatment; or
2. (2) Any money without the knowledge and consent of the Department; or
3. (3) Any deadly weapon or part thereof, or any instrument or article which may be used to effect an escape,

shall be punished by fine or imprisonment, or both.
