D.C. Mun. Regs. tit. 29, § 2342 – Services and Supports: Standards for Core Requirements -- Individual Psychotherapy

2342.1 Individual psychotherapy shall only be performed by either a:

(a) Licensed board certified psychiatrist;
(b) Licensed psychologist;
(c) Licensed psychiatric nurse or nurse practitioner;
(d) Licensed individual clinical social worker; and/or
(e) Licensed professional with specific training in psychotherapy.

2342.2 Only a child specialist shall provide psychotherapy to children under the age of 13 years.
