2813.1 Each pediatric trauma care facility, shall use a team approach to the initial and continued management of the acute spinal cord and head injury, as follows:

1. (a) In circumstances where a designated spinal cord injury rehabilitation center exists in the region, early transfer to that facility shall be considered for selected patients; transfer agreements shall be in effect with a designated spinal cord injury rehabilitation center; and
2. (b) In circumstances where a head injury center exists in the region, transfer to the facility shall be considered for selected patients; transfer agreements shall be in effect with a head injury center.
