2713.1 Each adult trauma care facility shall use a team approach to the initial and continued management of an acute spinal cord or head injury, as follows:

1. (a) In circumstances where a designated spinal cord injury rehabilitation center exists in the region, early transfer to that facility shall be considered for selected patients; transfer agreements shall be in effect with a designated spinal cord injury rehabilitation center; and
2. (b) In circumstances where a head injury center exists in the region, transfer to the facility shall be considered for selected patients; transfer agreement shall be in effect with a head injury center.
