Wraparound services grant program.

  1. (a) The Department shall, on an annual basis, issue a grant of $75,000 to a nonprofit organization that provides support and mentorship to female students who are District residents attending elementary through high school, focuses on preventing teen pregnancies, and encourages college attendance and workforce development.
  2. (b) A grant issued by the Department pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall be for the purpose of hiring a full-time employee to provide wraparound services to participating students.
  3. (c) For purposes of this section, the term:

    1. (1) "Department" means the Department of Health.
    2. (2) "Wraparound services" means health or mental health services provided by a health professional licensed, registered, or certified to practice in the District.
