1. (a) Beginning October 1, 2017, the Department of Motor Vehicles ("Department") shall electronically transmit to the District of Columbia Board of Elections the voter registration information of each applicant who did not decline to register to vote and stated that he or she is a citizen of the United States no later than 5 days after the date of its acceptance by the DMV.

2. (b) The electronic information submitted pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall contain the applicant's:

   1. (1) Legal name;
   2. (2) Date of birth;
   3. (3) Residence;
   4. (4) Mailing address;
   5. (5) Previous voter registration address;
   6. (6) DMV-issued identification number or social security number;
   7. (7) Party affiliation;
   8. (8) Response as to whether the applicant would like information on serving as a poll worker in the next election;
   9. (9) Citizenship information; and
   10. (10) Electronic signature.

Applicability

Applicability of D.C. Law 21-208: § 5 of D.C. Law 21-208 provided that the creation of this section by § 4 of D.C. Law 21-208 is subject to the inclusion of the law’s fiscal effect in an approved budget and financial plan. Therefore that amendment has not been implemented.

Section 7021 of D.C. Law 22-33 repealed § 5 of D.C. Law 21-208. Therefore the creation of this section by D.C. Law 21-208 has been implemented.
