*NOTE: Section 4 of D.C. Law 26-73 provided that the amendments made to this section by section 2(c) of D.C. Law 26-73 shall expire on the applicability date of section 105 of D.C. Law 24-345.*
(a) The MPD and the Office shall have the authority to receive a citizen complaint against a member or members of the MPD, and any other agency pursuant to subsection (j) of this section that alleges abuse or misuse of police powers by such member or members, including:
(g) The Executive Director shall screen each complaint and may request additional information from the complainant. Within 7 working days of the receipt of the complaint, or within 7 working days of the receipt of additional information requested from the complainant, the Executive Director shall take one of the following actions:
(g-1)
(1) If the Executive Director discovers evidence of abuse or misuse of police powers that was not alleged by the complainant in the complaint, the Executive Director may:

Applicability of D.C. Law 24-345: § 301 of D.C. Law 24-345 provided that the change made to this section by § 105(f) of D.C. Law 24-345 is subject to the inclusion of the law’s fiscal effect in an approved budget and financial plan. Therefore that amendment has not been implemented.
Section 7097 of D.C. Law 25-50 amended section 301(a)(1) of D.C. Law 24-345 retaining the applicability provision impacting this section. Therefore the amendment of this section by section 105(f) of Law 24-345 still has not been implemented.
Section 4 of D.C. Act 25-680 provided that the amendments made to this section by section 2(c) D.C.Act 25-680 shall expire on the applicability date of section 105 of D.C. Law 24-345.
Section 4 of D.C. Law 25-317 provided that the amendments made to this section by section 2(c) D.C.Law 25-317 shall expire on the applicability date of section 105 of D.C. Law 24-345.
