D.C. Code § 28:12-204

Security interest unperfected before April 20, 2024.

Effective Apr 20, 2024Apr. 20, 2024, D.C. Law 25-158, § 2(k)

(a) A security interest that is enforceable immediately before April 20, 2024 but is unperfected at that time:
1. (1) Remains an enforceable security interest until the adjustment date;
2. (2) Remains enforceable thereafter if the security interest becomes enforceable under § 28:9-203, as amended by the 2024 Act, on April 20, 2024 or before the adjustment date; and
3. (3) Becomes perfected:
  1. (A) Without further action, on April 20, 2024 if the requirements for perfection under the 2024 Act are satisfied before or at that time; or
  2. (B) When the requirements for perfection are satisfied if the requirements are satisfied after that time.
