1. (a) For the purposes of this part:

   1. (1) "Caregiver" means an individual who provides medical or non-medical care to a resident of a long-term care facility.
   2. (2) "HIV" means the human immunodeficiency virus.
   3. (3) "Long-term care facility" shall have the same meaning as provided in§ 7-701.01(7).
   4. (4) "Resident" shall have the same meaning as provided in § 7-701.01(13).
   5. (5) "Resident's representative" shall have the same meaning as provided in § 7-701.01(14).
   6. (6) "Staff" means an employee or contractor of a long-term care facility.

Applicability of D.C. Law 23-154: § 4 of D.C. Law 23-154 provided that the creation of this section by § 3 of D.C. Law 23-154 is subject to the inclusion of the law’s fiscal effect in an approved budget and financial plan. Therefore that amendment has not been implemented.

Section 7185 of D.C. Act 24-159 repealed section 4 of D.C. Law 23-154 removing the applicability provision impacting this section. Therefore the creation of this section by Law 23-154 has been implemented.
