For the purposes of any act or resolution of the Council of the District of Columbia, unless specifically provided otherwise, the term:

1. (a)

   1. (1) "Act" means an Act of the Congress.
   2. (2) "act" means an act of the Council.
   3. (3) "Attorney General" means the Attorney General for the District of Columbia or designee established under § 1-204.35.
   4. (4) "Council" means the Council of the District of Columbia established under § 1-204.01.
   5. (5) "District" means the District of Columbia.
   6. (6) "Home Rule Act" means the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, Chapter 2 of this title.
   7. (7) "Mayor" means the Mayor of the District of Columbia established under § 1-204.21.
