Conn. Agencies Regs. § 7-323l-12a – Hazardous materials safety officer

(a) General
1. (1) A candidate for hazardous materials safety officer certification shall comply with standards relating to the use of self-contained breathing apparatus described in 29 CFR 1910.134.
2. (2) No person shall be certified to the level of hazardous materials safety officer until all examination components for hazardous materials technician have been fulfilled.
3. (3) No person shall be certified to the level of hazardous materials safety officer until all examination requirements of this standard for hazardous materials safety officer have been fulfilled.
(b) Objectives: The candidate for certification to the level of hazardous materials safety officer shall comply with the performance objectives of NFPA 472, Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents, Competencies for Hazardous Materials Safety Officers, Chapter 11.
(c) The commission shall certify as a hazardous materials safety officer those candidates who have satisfactorily demonstrated the ability to meet the requirements as prescribed in this section.
