EMS personnel may release patient care responsibility to an on-scene physician only after:

1. (a) The physician has been identified as a Connecticut licensed physician and has offered some form of identification, such as a driver's license, which confirms the credentials; and,
2. (b) Obtaining from the physician a commitment to accompany the patient to the hospital in the vehicle transporting the patient; and,
3. (c) Having the physician speak directly to the person responsible for medical direction and receiving authority to release the patient.
