Conn. Agencies Regs. § 18-81-55 – Definitions

For the purposes of Sections 18-81-55 through 18-81-56, the following definitions shall apply:

(a) "Property" means any tangible physical object possessed or owned by an inmate, excluding money.
(b) "Unclaimed Inmate Property" means any inmate property that:
1. (1) is not claimed at discharge or within 30 days after discharge;
2. (2) is not claimed by the inmate's next of kin within 30 days of notification of an inmate's death;
3. (3) belongs to an inmate who has escaped; or (4) is contraband that has not been otherwise disposed of.
(c) "Contraband" means any property that is not authorized by the Commissioner of Correction.
