Assistance to Homeless Persons with AIDS Pilot Program

1. (a) AIDS patients are persons who have acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
2. (b) Application means the document whose requirements are described in Sections 6 and 7 of this regulation.
3. (c) ARC patients are persons who have an AIDS related complex.
4. (d) Commissioner means the Commissioner of the Department of Human Resources.
5. (e) Department means the Department of Human Resources.
6. (f) Financial assistance means funds granted by the Department of Human Resources to an eligible, non-profit corporation to assist in the cost of planning the development of housing, acquiring property to be used for housing, repairing, rehabilitating, constructing, and operating housing for AIDS and/or ARC patients.
7. (g) Housing means a structure to be used as a primary residence for homeless persons suffering from AIDS and/or ARC, who wish to remain independent.
8. (h) Initial inquiry means the information requested in Section 2 of this regulation.
9. (i) Non-profit corporation means a non-profit corporation as defined in Connecticut General Statutes, Section 8-39 that has received IRS 501 (c) (3) status, and which plans to provide housing described in Section 1 (g) of this regulation.
