In addition to the requirements of 49 CFR 391.41, as amended, a school bus driver shall drive a school bus only on days when he or she has:

1. (1) Enough physical strength to handle the bus with ease.
2. (2) Full and sufficient use of both hands and feet, unless a qualified physician states that the lack of such use is not a handicap to the school bus driver.
3. (3) Freedom from a communicable disease of extraordinary nature.
4. (4) Freedom from any disease or injury which impairs the ability to drive.
5. (5) Freedom from the use of medication which may impair ability to drive.
6. (6) Freedom from the effects of alcohol and other drugs.
7. (7) Freedom from mental, nervous, organic, or functional disease, likely to interfere with safe driving.
