The Bureau of Aviation and Ports is responsible for all aspects of air and waterborne transportation falling under the jurisdiction of the Department, including but not limited to:
- (a) the development, maintenance, and operation of State-owned airports which include Bradley International, Groton-New London, Hartford-Brainard, Waterbury-Oxford, Windham, and Danielson;
- (b) the licensing and regulating of aviation facilities in the State;
- (c) the development of aviation safety programs in close liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration;
- (d) the licensing of pilots and shipping agents on Connecticut's navigable waters; and (e) operation of the Chester/Hadlyme and Rocky Hill/Glastonbury ferries and the State Pier in New London.
