Conn. Gen. Stat. § 7-294g
(a) Each police basic or review training program conducted or administered by the Division of State Police within the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, by the Police Officer Standards and Training Council established under section 7-294b or by a municipal police department in the state shall provide a minimum of two hours of training on the subject of domestic violence that includes, but is not limited to, the following:

History: P.A. 89-172 added Subsec. (b) to include in each police basic training program a course on the recognition and management of child abuse and suicide prevention procedures; P.A. 95-108 renamed Municipal Police Training Council as Police Officer Standards and Training Council (Revisor's note: The word “by” preceding references to “the Police Officer Standards and Training Council” in Subsecs. (a) and (b) was added editorially by the Revisors for grammatical correctness and conformity with wording of Sec. 7-294h); pursuant to P.A. 11-51, “Department of Public Safety” was changed editorially by the Revisors to “Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection”, effective July 1, 2011; P.A. 18-5 amended Subsec. (a) by adding new Subdiv. (2) re factors for determining dominant aggressor in family violence case, redesignated Subdivs. (3) to (5) as Subdivs. (4) to (6), replacing “Connecticut Task Force on Abused Women” with “Division of Criminal Justice and an entity representing the state-wide domestic violence coalition”, deleting provision re submission of curriculum to task force for approval, replacing reference to individual shelter programs in task force with reference to domestic violence agency, and adding reference to guidelines and certification requirements established under Sec. 7-294d, effective January 1, 2019.
