[Editor's note: This version of this section is effective January 1, 2026.]

1. (1) Effective January 1, 2024, an individual who practices as a veterinary technician in this state must be registered by the board pursuant to this part 2 and rules adopted by the board for the registration of veterinary technicians.
2. (2) Effective January 1, 2026, an individual who intends to practice as a veterinary professional associate in this state must be registered by the board pursuant to this part 2 and rules adopted by the board for the registration of veterinary professional associates.
