The following types of entities are eligible to apply to become VISTA sponsors and thereby undertake projects in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories:

1. (a) Private nonprofit organizations.
2. (b) Public nonprofit organizations.
3. (c) State government or state government agencies.
4. (d) Local government or local government agencies.
5. (e) Tribal government or tribal government agencies.
