If you are unable to meet any of the processing requirements in this subpart, you may request approval for an alternative requirement from the BLM. Any such request is not approved until you receive BLM approval in writing. Your request to the BLM must:

1. (a) Show good cause for your inability to meet a requirement;
2. (b) Suggest an alternative requirement and explain why that requirement is appropriate; and
3. (c) Be received in writing by the BLM in a timely manner, before the deadline to meet a particular requirement has passed.
