The food additive taurine (2-amino-ethanesulfonic acid) may be safely used in feed in accordance with the following prescribed conditions:

1. (a) It is used as a nutritional supplement in the feed of growing chickens.
2. (b) It is added to complete feeds so that the total taurine content does not exceed 0.054 percent of the feed.

3. (c) To assure safe use of the additive, the label and labeling shall bear in addition to the other information required by the Act:

   1. (1) The name of the additive.
   2. (2) The quantity of the additive contained therein.
   3. (3) Adequate directions for use.
