(a) For purposes of this section, the following definitions apply:

1. (1) “Lactation room” means a room or other location open to members of the public to express breast milk in a private and secure location that meets both of the following conditions:

   1. (A) Includes, at a minimum, a chair, an electrical outlet, and a shelf, table, or other surface other than the floor upon which equipment used to express breast milk can be placed.
   2. (B) Is located outside of the confines of a public restroom.
2. (2) “Renovation” means the reconstruction of more than 25 percent of the space in the indoor area of a multimodal transit station, exclusive of train platforms, walkways, and track areas.

3. (3) “Multimodal transit station” means the following rail stations:

   1. (A) Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center in the City of Anaheim.
   2. (B) Bakersfield Station in the City of Bakersfield.
   3. (C) Jack London Square Station in the City of Oakland.
   4. (D) Los Angeles Union Station in the City of Los Angeles.
   5. (E) Robert J. Cabral Station in the City of Stockton.
   6. (F) Sacramento Valley Station in the City of Sacramento.
   7. (G) Salesforce Transit Center in the City of San Francisco.
   8. (H) San Jose Diridon Station in the City of San Jose.
   9. (I) Santa Fe Depot in the City of San Diego.
   10. (J) Santa Fe Passenger Depot in the City of Fresno.

   11. (K) A rail station that meets all of the following criteria:

       1. (i) The rail station supports the operation of an intercity rail service established pursuant to Article 5 (commencing with Section 14070) of Chapter 1 of Part 5 of Division 3 of Title 2 of the Government Code, or the rail station is, or is planned to be, served by California’s high-speed rail system pursuant to the Safe, Reliable High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act for the 21st Century (Chapter 20 (commencing with Section 2704) of Division 3 of the Streets and Highways Code).
       2. (ii) The rail station serves as a stop or transfer point between intercity rail or high-speed rail and local or regional rail or bus service.
       3. (iii) The rail station has a publicly accessible indoor area of no less than 5,000 square feet and includes a public restroom.
       4. (iv) The rail station has staff onsite during hours of operation.
