Effective Jul 30, 1991Added by Stats. 1991, Ch. 278, Sec. 11.1. Effective July 30, 1991. Inoperative July 1, 2014, as prescribed in Section 12699.15. Repealed as of January 1, 2016, pursuant to Section 12699.15.
  1. (a) Each participating health plan contracting with the board pursuant to this part shall provide health education services related to tobacco use to all program participants.
  2. (b) The education activities required by subdivision (a) shall include all of the following:

    1. (1) Dissuading persons from beginning to smoke.
    2. (2) Encouraging smoking cessation.
    3. (3) Providing information on the health effects of tobacco use on the user, children, and nonsmokers.
