For purposes of Article 3 (commencing with Section 7928.200) of Chapter 14 of Part 5, “elected or appointed official” includes, but is not limited to, all of the following:

1. (a) A state constitutional officer.
2. (b) A Member of the Legislature.
3. (c) An active or retired judge, court commissioner, or judge of the State Bar Court.
4. (d) A district attorney.
5. (e) A public defender.
6. (f) A member of a city council.
7. (g) A member of a board of supervisors.
8. (h) An appointee of the Governor.
9. (i) An appointee of the Legislature.
10. (j) A mayor.
11. (k) A city attorney.
12. (l) A police chief or sheriff.
13. (m) A public safety official.
14. (n) A state administrative law judge.
15. (o) An active or retired federal judge or federal defender.
16. (p) A member of the United States Congress or appointee of the President of the United States.
17. (q) An active or retired judge of a federally recognized Indian tribe.
18. (r) An appointee of a court to serve as children’s counsel in a family or dependency proceeding.
