(a)

1. (1) The Secretary of State may grant conditional approval to a voting system or part of a voting system under either of the following circumstances:

   1. (A) A voting system or part of a voting system was decertified as a result of a review by the Secretary of State pursuant to Section 19232.
   2. (B) A certified voting system or part of that voting system is modified to comply with voting system standards or changes in statute.
2. (2) For purposes of granting conditional approval to a voting system or part of a voting system pursuant to paragraph (1), the Secretary of State may impose additional conditions of approval as deemed necessary by the Secretary of State.
