1. (a) Slotters of vertical type.

   1. (1) The knife shall be provided with a stripper, or
   2. (2) Shall be provided with a guard in front of knives so arranged that the hands of the operator cannot come into contact with the knives while machine is in operation.
2. (b) Rotary Slotter. A guard shall be provided in front of the knives so that the hands of the operator cannot come into contact with the knives while machine is in operation.
