1. (a) Emergency illumination shall include all required means of egress lighting, illuminated exit signs, and all other lights necessary to provide illumination.
2. (b) Where emergency lighting is necessary, the system shall be so arranged that the failure of any individual lighting element, such as the burning out of a light bulb, cannot leave any space in total darkness.
