1. (a) Flexible cords used with the following equipment may not exceed 3 feet (0.9 m) in length and shall have a copper equipment grounding conductor with a grounding-type attachment plug.

   1. (1) Cord- and plug-connected lighting fixtures installed within 16 feet (4.88 m) of the water surface of permanently installed pools.
   2. (2) Other cord- and plug-connected, fixed or stationary equipment used with permanently installed pools.
