1. (a) The size and weight of loads, and the manner in which loads are to be connected to the helicopter, shall be checked prior to loading.
2. (b) The employer shall take all necessary precautions to protect employees from flying objects thrown by the rotor downwash.
3. (c) All loose equipment susceptible to rotor downwash shall be secured or removed.
4. (d) Log pickup shall be arranged so that the hookup crew does not work on slopes directly below the logs being picked up.
5. (e) If the load must be lightened, the hook shall be held at eye level on the uphill side of the turn before the hooker approaches to release the excess logs.
