1. (a) The principal amount a scholar shall repay for failure to fulfill the teaching obligation for a particular award year is determined by the following formula:

   Years of teaching obligation for that award year not

   completed

   x

   Scholarship amount

   =

   Scholarship amount

   Total years of teaching obligation for that award year

   for that award year

   to be repaid for that award year

2. (b) The definition of a teaching year shall be the same as that used by the school or school district in which the scholar teaches.
