Cal. Code Regs. tit. 3, § 2304
(a) In addition to the information required by Section 14601 of the Food and Agricultural Code, the label of each product which contains organisms, enzymes, or other by-products of organisms for which claims are made shall state:
(1) Species name of each microorganism, name of each enzyme, or organism by-product, if claimed, as part of the statement of composition.
(2)(A) The number of viable units of each microorganism per cubic centimeter, milliliter, or gram.
(b) The following supporting documentation is required for verifying label claims:
All fertilizing materials for which claims are made relating to organisms, enzymes or organism by-products are subject to the registration requirement of Section 14601 of the Food and Agricultural Code.
