1. (a) the operator shall dismantle and remove site structures at the time of closure to protect public health and safety in accordance with the implementation schedule of the approved final closure plan.

2. (b) The operator shall ensure that structures and components of landfill gas and leachate control systems not intended for reuse that have come into contact with leachate or landfill gas, and that are dismantled at the time of closure or during the postclosure period are:

   1. (1) disposed of within the landfill, in accordance with the approved final closure plan; or
   2. (2) transported to another solid waste facility which is approved for receipt of such materials. Transportation and disposal should be accomplished in a manner to protect public health and safety.
