1. (a) The purpose of the microenterprise assistance program shall be to make child care facility assistance more efficiently and effectively available to family child care homes serving more than six (6) children by using intermediaries experienced in serving microenterprises. A family child care home provider serving more than six (6) children may apply for assistance under the guaranty program, the direct loan program and/or this microenterprise assistance program.
2. (b) The department shall set aside not more than fifteen percent (15%) from the allocation of funds to the Direct Loan Fund (the “Microenterprise Set Aside”) for the purpose of funding the microenterprise assistance program.
