Cal. Code Regs. tit. 22, § 53686 – Continued Hearings.

(a) The hearing officer, prior to issuance of a proposed decision in the matter, may continue or reopen a hearing:
1. (1) On the hearing officer's own initiative.
2. (2) At the request of any party only upon a showing of good cause.
(b) Notice of the time and place of the continued hearing:
1. (1) May be oral if the continuance is ordered during a hearing session.
2. (2) Shall be in writing to all parties, in accordance with this article, if ordered outside a hearing session.
