1. (a) Acute administrative days are covered, when authorized by a Medi-Cal consultant pursuant to Section 51003, subject to the following:

   1. (1) The acute inpatient facility has made appropriate and timely discharge planning.
   2. (2) All other coverage has been utilized.
   3. (3) The acute inpatient facility meets the requirements contained in the Manual of Criteria for Medi-Cal Authorization.
2. (b) Ancillary services provided during acute administrative days are subject to the Medi-Cal program requirements and controls applicable to ancillary services provided to patients authorized to receive services in acute inpatient facilities.
