1. (a) The Department shall be responsible for the administration of the Elderly Nutrition Program and shall have duties that include:

   1. (1) Monitoring and evaluating nutrition services.
   2. (2) Disseminating information to AAAs about nutrition advancements and developments.
   3. (3) Promoting coordination between nutrition services and community-based organizations serving older individuals.
   4. (4) Providing technical assistance to AAAs with respect to each duty described above.

2. (b) The Department shall have a designated person(s) who shall:

   1. (1) Have expertise in nutrition and dietary services and planning.
   2. (2) Be a registered dietitian.
