1. (a) Equipment.

   1. (1) All requirements of Section 30308(a) apply except 30308 (a)(5) and 30308 (a)(9).
   2. (2) The exposure control switch shall be of the dead-man type and shall be so arranged that the operator can stand at least 6 feet from the patient and well away from the useful beam.
   3. (3) Inherent provisions shall be made so that the equipment is not operated at source-skin distances of less than 12 inches.

2. (b) Operating Procedures.

   1. (1) All provisions of Section 30308(b) apply except 30308(b)(5).
   2. (2) The target-to-skin distance shall be not less than 12 inches.
   3. (3) Personnel monitoring shall be required for all individuals operating mobile X-ray equipment.
