Cal. Code Regs. tit. 17, § 1355 – Director of Environmental Health.

(a) There shall be a full-time Director of Environmental Health who shall be responsible for the administration of environmental health and sanitation services and programs.
(b) The Director shall meet the following minimum qualifications:
1. (1) Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a sanitarian in the State of California.
2. (2) Three or more years' experience in an environmental health agency. A Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Science, Public Administration, or a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
