1. (a) A licensee performing hazardous drug (HD) compounding shall comply with this article as well as the non-sterile and sterile compounding requirements, as applicable, in Article 4.5 and Article 4.6.
2. (b) Additional safety and health requirements are included in the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, and are enforced by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health.

In addition to the requirements in United States Pharmacopeia (USP) General Chapter 800 (USP Chapter 800), titled Hazardous Drugs -- Handling in Healthcare Setting, this article applies to the compounding of Hazardous Drugs (HDs) or crushing or splitting tablets or opening capsules of antineoplastic HDs.
