1. (a) First aid kits shall be available in designated areas of each juvenile facility. The responsible physician shall approve the contents, number, location and procedure for periodic inspection of the kits.

2. (b) Automated external defibrillators (AED) shall be available in each juvenile facility. The facility administrator shall ensure that device is maintained properly per manufacturer standard.

   Youth supervision and health care staff shall be trained and written policies and procedures established to respond appropriately to emergencies requiring first aid and AED.

The health administrator/responsible physician, in cooperation with the facility administrator, shall establish facility-specific policies and procedures to assure access to first aid and emergency services.
