(a) To comply with Penal Code section 28215, subdivision (a)(4), the dealer or salesperson shall:
- (1) record the hunting license document number, the GO ID issued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and dates valid as listed on the license when the purchaser/transferee information is transmitted to the Department; and
- (2) certify under penalty of perjury that they have visually inspected the hunting license and confirmed that it is in the name of the purchaser/transferee, has the signature of the purchaser/transferee, and is valid and unexpired (as defined in Penal Code section 16685) at the time the firearm is delivered to the purchaser/transferee.
- (b) The dealer or salesperson shall report and transmit the information in subdivision (a) through the DROS Entry System (DES).
- (c) If the dealer or salesperson cannot initially confirm the information in subdivision (a)(2), the purchaser/transferee shall have until the end of the 30-day period specified in the DES transaction record to provide a valid and unexpired hunting license to obtain possession of the firearm.
